Bans, bans, bans, and more bans, part 1,277,498

Do you honestly know what a ban is? Forget the phony justifications such as public health, public safety, or any other public fill-in-the-blank, they are irrelevant. A ban falls under the definition of a tyranny, a ban is the government taking a freedom and imposing their will upon you. They defy what the constitution is about, no matter the intent.

Over the last two or three years the bans have increased dramatically, the ignorant go along with them for a couple of reasons, selfishness and complacency are the biggest reasons. The bans have gone from semi-understandable to downright ridiculous. We have smoking bans, water usage bans, salt bans, fast food bans, and the list of what keeps politicians up late at night to impose their faulty and wrong wills on the rest of us just keeps getting longer and longer, which is one of the reasons I ignore bans and do as I please, regardless of illegal consequences from unconstitutional bans. That’s my choice and I encourage everyone to follow my lead. Enough is enough with this banning nonsense.

Well, enough is enough is not enough in Nevada. This should really be our Asinine item of the day post. Just when you think Nanny State can’t be any more obtrusive, it can. But… it’s not just Nanny State. This bill reeks of environmental zealotry and climate kookiness. You’ll find that out when you continue reading.

A group of legislators in Nevada are proposing a bill that would ban air fresheners and candles in public places because, they say, the fragrances can annoy some.

Okay, look at this for what it is. Society has to completely change because of a small minority of the population. I thought the majority ruled in this country. So what if they’re annoyed? They can go someplace else, pretty simple solution. That’s how freedom works.

Las Vegas Democrat Assemblyman Paul Aizley on Monday presented the proposed legislation, which would set restrictions on pesticides, fragrances and candles to accommodate people with chemical sensitivities.

A Democrat! It figures. Nobody is really surprised about that, are they?

Understand this, no more romantic candlelight dinners, that’s kind of an American tradition to do with your loved one. No candles in cocktail lounges, no incense in those funny little new age shops, no air fresheners for your car or home, and uhhh, no candles in church either.

You know what? If fragrances annoy some people, they can leave, they have that choice.

A cocktail waitress at a casino said inhaling the fragrances piped through the ventilation system felt like a concrete slab on her chest.

Well, she chose to work there. If it’s that much of a bother, she can find another job. Like I said, a pretty simple solution.

Enough of the chronic and professional whiners, let’s move on to the environmental zealotry and climate kookiness of this idiocy.

The bill, AB 234, specifically “prohibits the use of an ozone generator, any volatile organic compound, any candle or any air additive, including an air fragrance, air freshener or potpourri, in any area of a place of public accommodation which is open to the public.”

The keyword being ozone. It’s a masked environmental zealot bill, plain and simple, and it, pardon the pun, stinks of Harry Reid’s influence.
