Senator Joseph McCarthy

Senator Joseph McCarthy was born on this date in 1908. He first ran for the senate in 1946 against the father of the progressive movement, Robert LaFollette, Jr., and narrowly defeated the progressive incumbant.

It was later found out, thanks in large part to Sen. McCarthy that the progressive LaFollette had ties to the Communists, and fearing McCarthy’s committee, LaFollette killed himself in 1953.

To make a long story short, most of the accusations and smears against Sen. McCarthy, and his villainization are all wrong, as declassified documents in the Venona Project have vindicated McCarthy and proven him correct. In fact, the New York Post even ran a piece entitled, Venona Files prove McCarthy, Nixon right about Soviet spies.

And now, history is repeating itself and this country needs another Sen. Joseph McCarthy as communist revolutionaries have crawled out of the woodwork since January 20, 2009.

Same as 60 years ago, the AFL-CIO and other big labor unions are heavily influenced by communist ideology, the Occupy movement is communist, we have communists out in the open marching and giving away literature, we have Democrats in congress that are openly sympathetic to communist ideology and that includes the president himself. They all should be investigated.

So let’s all stand for a moment of silence and a tip of the hat to the great Senator Joseph “Tail Gunner Joe” McCarthy!
