The Obama Legacy: Taxes Prompt Record Number Of Americans To Renounce Citizenship

Even some of you hardcore leftists have to admit something is very wrong and un-American about the Obama Regime. We used to be a country where people came to, now we are becoming just another European Socialist country where people look to leave for better options elsewhere. That’s not what America is about, this has never happened before. Add it to the list of undesirable firsts that Barack Obama has created. Seriously, you have to see and feel how wrong things are. Can’t you?

Record numbers of people are leaving because of the tax burden and massive regulations, a record number this year, surpassing the old record set last year. Shouldn’t that tell you something? It should tell you we are going the wrong way and spending needs to be cut. Yet Barack Obama is touring the country trying to justify raising taxes even more, and calling for more spending, which he falsely calls “investments,” while expecting everybody, especially those that are living the American dream to pay more, or as Obama falsely calls it, “contributing.”

He’s softening everyone up for draconian tax increases by using class warfare of which an example would be, “The Buffet Rule.” He’s using envy as well, all tried and true Bolshevik tactics that worked in 1917 Russia and 1949 China. There’s no difference in philosophy whatsoever.

Now he’s using his secretary as a prop saying she paid more in taxes than he did. Gee, how convenient is that?

If that is indeed the case, why did Obama make use of all the tax exemptions and loopholes to pay less than his fair share? Did any of you on the left stop and think about that? Like the 48,000 dollar “gift” to his children?

He’s supposed to lead by example, not empty rhetoric, so why did he take full advantage of the loopholes? He doesn’t think anybody else should. So why should he?

He also could have chosen to pay the new 39.5% tax rate as well. But he didn’t. Yet he expects everyone else “who can afford to”, to pay that rate. Wow! Talk about a phony, greedy hypocrite that lives by the phrase, “Do as I say, not as I do.” Is it clicking yet for some of you? Are you finally seeing what that man is all about?

Now he’s driving American citizens out of the country in record numbers. God help us if he’s reelected.

Obama Regime Tightening The Screws On Power Plants, Higher Energy Prices To Come

Once again, citing yet another example in a long list of examples as to why we need to abolish the EPA, which is filled with Obamaphile enviro-kooks.

This is going to raise the price of energy no matter how you slice it. It is being done intentionally. We don’t need new regulations, we need less. If it was not being done on purpose, Obama would not have said he plans to make energy prices skyrocket, and this would not be going in to effect:

(Reuters) – The Obama administration proposed on Tuesday the first rules to cut carbon dioxide emissions from new U.S. power plants, a move hotly contested by Republicans and industry in an election year.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposal would effectively stop the building of most new coal-fired plants in an industry that is moving rapidly to more natural gas.

Close to 50% of all power generated in this country comes from coal. Can you imagine the economic impact this will have on you?

The natural gas that was mentioned, how do you find and extract that gas? Drilling. Obama has an illegal moratorium on offshore drilling and refuses to issue new drilling permits onshore. Rapidly moving toward natural gas? I think not.

Does anyone know how the natural gas reserves are found? Well, drilling, yes. But drilling for what? Natural gas? No, that’s not it. They are found by drilling for oil. Obama has virtually stopped oil exploration and drilling in this country. I dunno, maybe we can become Brazil’s best customer for natural gas too.

Republicans say a slew of EPA clean air measures will drive up power costs but have had little success in trying to stop them in Congress. Industries have turned to the courts to slow down the EPA’s program.

Some Democrats from energy-intensive states also complained. “The overreaching that EPA continues to do is going to create a tremendous burden and hardship on the families and people of America,” said Senator Joe Manchin, a Democrat from West Virginia.

This is cap-and-trade by proxy. Obama and the EPA are climate kooks that actually believe the fairy tale of climate change even though the debate is over and science has proven beyond a reasonable doubt, there is no such thing.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson is a total and complete, 100% certifiable lunatic that needs to be removed expeditiously.

Just wait until next winter when you get your heating bills, living in a northern climate won’t be economically feasible for the average American. And you in the south, you better learn how to live without air conditioning, you’re not going to be able to afford it.

Regulation Nation: Obama’s New 10,215 Unnecesary Regulations Cost Taxpayers 46 Billion Dollars

10,215 freedoms have been stolen from you by this radical, big central government planner named Barack Obama. And, you are paying him 46 billion dollars for the privilege of having him steal your liberty.

He’s an absolute power freak. He’d regulate how many times you could flush your toilet if he had his way.

Another four years of Obama and you will have no freedom at all. Everything will be regulated. That is his wrong ideology, he knows what’s best for everybody, and he’s the smartest man in the world. Just ask him, he’ll tell you.

Some 10,215 new federal regulations from the Obama administration are costing consumers, businesses and the economy overall $46 billion annually, more than five times the regulatory price tag of former President Bush in his first three years in office. Worse: just implementing those regulations had a one-time additional cost of $11 billion, according to a Heritage Foundation analysis provided to Washington Secrets…

The analysis backs up complaints from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and other business groups that the president’s regulations are stalling the economy and employment growth. It also calls into question Obama’s promise to put the brakes on new regulations and his State of the Union bragging about issuing less red tape than Bush.

And to think, this is only the beginning of Comrade Obama’s regulations. Many, many more are coming which will further sink our economy in to the abyss, along with your freedom.

The fact is, said Heritage’s review, hundreds more costly regulations are coming, especially those targeting energy companies and Wall Street. They threaten “to further weaken an anemic economy and job creation,” said Heritage’s James Gattuso and Diane Katz.

Do you still want another four years of this central planner as your president? Not me. I’ve seen enough. Matter of fact, I saw enough two days in to his presidency. How about you?

Obamacare Moves Forward With Job-Killing IRS Regulations

Obamacare opponents have been raising red flags around this issue for some time, but today the IRS has finally issued preliminary guidelines for the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. The legislation is expected to cost America tens of thousands of jobs, while also sending some high-end industries overseas. There’s more from the IRS available at the links in text below. That it’s being released on a Friday afternoon is no coincidence.

Richard Cordray: Law Breaker

President’s appointment of liberal former Ohio Attorney General Richard Cordray to head the powerful Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) was a direct assault on the Constitution and the law causing constitutional scholar Jonathan Turley to remark that President Obama has surpassed Richard Nixon in “the development of an imperial presidency of unchecked executive powers.”

Cordray is well aware that the Constitution provides the president with the power of appointment when the Congress is not in session. But the Congress was not in recess when the President appointed Cordray. Adding insult to injury, the 2010 law that….

GOOD NEWS: GOP will target Obama’s regulations

Obama’s ideological, progressive, big central government regulations that have stifled economic growth are going to be ripped to shreds when congress gets back to business. Unfortunately, the Socialists still have the Senate, so we’ll have to wait and see how it plays out, but, the GOP can hold hostage some of Obama’s big government programs by refusing to fund them. Like I said, we’ll see how this plays out.

The House Republican agenda this fall will focus on repealing environmental and labor regulations that GOP lawmakers say are driving up the cost of doing business and discouraging employers from hiring new workers.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, R-Va., says in a memo to his fellow Republicans that as soon as Congress returns to Washington next week he will start bringing up bills to repeal or restrict federal regulations. He also said the House would also act on a small business tax deduction.

The memo was released Monday.

The GOP approach to job creation comes as President Barack Obama prepares to announce after Labor Day a broad jobs package expected to include tax cuts, infrastructure projects and help for the unemployed.

“By pursuing a steady repeal of job-destroying regulations, we can help lift the cloud of uncertainty hanging over small and large employers alike, empowering them to hire more workers,” Cantor said in his memo.

He said that in the first week after Congress returns from its August recess the House will vote on a bill preventing the National Labor Relations Board from restricting where an employer can locate in the United States.

It’s nice to see a little common sense will be coming to D.C. once the Republicans convene. It’s about damned time. They need to start defunding a lot of things this fall. Those of you that read this blog regularly know exactly what I’m talking about. I’ll give Eric Cantor an “atta boy” for this initiative.

Nothing is safe from the long arm of the federal government as Team Obama regulates goat herders

From the you’ve got to be kidding files, and no I’m not, Obama’s big socialist nanny state strikes again with one of the most asinine regulations in this nation’s history. There is nothing safe from Obama’s long arm of big government, including goat herders.

The Obama administration is setting new workplace regulations to assist foreign workers who fill goat herding positions in the U.S., including employee-paid cell phones and comfy beds.

These new special procedures issued by the Labor Department must be followed by employers who want to hire temporary agricultural foreign workers to perform sheep herding or goat herding activities. It describes strict rules for sleeping quarters, lighting, food storage, bathing, laundry, cooking and new rules for the counters where food is prepared.

There has never been a time in my life with this much government overreach stripping away freedom and liberty and replacing it with central government nanny statism. This is not America anymore. Behold:

“Instead of remedying the problem, the regulations make it that much harder,” Katz insisted. “We may need a whole set of regulations just to define what a comfortable bed is. I imagine it’s not straw.”

The new lighting standards say that in areas where it is not feasible to provide electrical service such as tents or mobile trailers, lanterns must be provided. “Kerosene wick lights meet the definition of lantern,” the regulations say.

“When workers or their families are permitted or required to cook in their individual unit, a space shall be provided with adequate lighting and ventilation.”

“Wall surfaces next to all food preparation and cooking areas shall be of nonabsorbent, easy-to-clean material. Wall surfaces next to cooking areas shall be of fire-resistant material,” the regulations say.

“It makes you wonder,” Katz said, “how they ever did this before the government got involved?”

“Who knew we needed all of this federal help for herding goats?” Katz quipped.

Things that make you go, hmmm. I bet this will be the last time we see a Socialist, oops, they like to be called Democrat, president and majority for a long, long time.

I don’t know about you, if you’ve been institutionalised yet, or not. I haven’t, and I see all this government not to “help” but to hinder and it has turned me in to someone who hates the government and see’s it as an enemy, and I’m suspicious of everything it does. I’ve never felt this way before. Not even one full term of Obama and the Democrats, and this is what I’ve become.

Under the Obama Administration, the nanny state has imposed 75 new major regulations with annual costs of $38 billion.

“This captures what is wrong with government,” Katz said. “I could not have made this up.”

Amen.

The EPA must be defunded and eliminated

Obama has gotten his cap-and-trade through the back door, ignoring the will of the people, the constitution and congress which has been made irrelevant under this regime. He did it via executive order granting the tree hugging kooks at the EPA unlimited powers, and you and I are about notice… in the pocketbooks.

Yes, the EPA needs to be eliminated. I have no doubt some will scream bloody murder at that. One then needs to ask, can’t you function in life without the EPA? It has far outlived its usefulness and purpose and has evolved in to powerful government agency filled with environmental zealots pushing a 1960′s hippy-type, tree hugging agenda that will cost us billions if not trillions.

When I said Obama is intentionally destroying this country, this new EPA nonsense proves it. It also proves Obama and the EPA are creating poverty. Why would anyone willingly attempt to hurt you financially? I dunno, ask Obama.

Now, here’s another one. Obama has created more poverty in this country than any other president in modern history with no sign of stopping. So what are the poor going to do with the increased utility bills they will need to pay? Create another government spending program to help them? We don’t have any money, how is that going to work? Oh! I know! “Tax the rich.” The Obama ideology is what Prime Minister Thatcher once said many years ago. “He would rather the poor be poorer, so long as the rich don’t get any richer.” That is his core belief. Actions speak louder than words, and his actions have validated what I just wrote.

Our neighbor to the east, Wisconsin, has already sounded the alarm on these new rules in a story from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel entitled, Utilities warn of higher rates because of pollution rules:

Two state utilities said this week new federal pollution rules will lead to higher electricity costs come January.

Wisconsin Public Service Corp. of Green Bay said it would see higher costs of about $32.6 million in 2012 from the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule that was finalized recently by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. That will result in rates going up by 6.8%.

On Thursday, Wisconsin Power & Light Co. of Madison said it would face an additional $9 million in costs linked to the air pollution rule. With the change, the utility is now seeking an increase in 2012 of $20 million.

Todd Stuart, executive director of the Wisconsin Industrial Energy Group, criticized the increases, and he noted that large energy users like paper mills will see higher than average increases, compared with homeowners and small businesses. Paper mills served by WPS could see a 9% hike, he said.

“The EPA’s new rules have directly resulted in a major new cost for struggling homeowners and manufacturers,” Stuart said in a statement. “Members of Congress should be taking a very hard look at the significant compliance costs of EPA’s new mandates.”

That’s bad policy with bad results, worse if you live in Texas as they are preparing for rolling blackouts directly due to Obama-EPA rules. The Star-Telegram reports:

The head of the Texas Public Utility Commission expressed concern Friday that a new federal air quality rule, set to take effect Jan. 1, will cause disruptions in electric service.

If implementation of the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule is not delayed, “I have no doubt in my mind that this rule will result in reliability issues and rolling outages in Texas,” Donna Nelson said at the start of the commission’s meeting.

“Curtailing plant and/or mine operations will be the only option” if the 1,323-page rule goes into effect as planned, Luminant said.

In an Aug. 4 letter to the EPA, Nelson said that the new rule is “overly burdensome” and that the federal agency “has ignored the effects of local transmission constraints when considering the impact of generating-plant retirements on electric reliability.” Nelson became the PUC’s chairwoman after former Commissioner Barry Smitherman was appointed to the Texas Railroad Commission last month.

You know what the thing is? This doesn’t have to happen. But Obama and the EPA are going to make it happen. And for what? Hmmm? What?
