For Economy to Grow, Washington Must Get Out of the Way

All things good and bad come to an end, and that is true of the long recession, which, according to the economic statisticians, we are in no longer.  When the jobs numbers for last month came in President Obama was quick to proclaim that the recovery is on track, and let us hope he is correct.  But the story can’t end there if the country is truly to be restored to economic health.

There are lessons to be learned about government policy actions, which have been adversely affecting the private sector where jobs are created.

Biggest jump in food costs in more than 36 years, Wholesale prices up

I told you it was coming. I told you things were going to get worse under this president. I told you everything he does is wrong, 180 degree’s opposite of common sense.

Now we are experiencing the highest jump in food costs in over 36 years. Guess what that means. We were better off under Carter than Obama. And you know what that verifies… Obama as the worst president in modern history. How many were actually retarded enough to vote for him? Yeah, well, I guess I wouldn’t admit it either.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Wholesale prices jumped last month by the most in nearly two years due to higher energy costs and the steepest rise in food prices in 36 years….

Food prices soared 3.9 percent last month, the biggest gain since November 1974. Most of that increase was due to a sharp rise in vegetable costs, which increased nearly 50 percent. That was the most in almost a year. Meat and dairy products also rose.

Energy prices rose 3.3 percent last month, led by a 3.7 percent increase in gasoline costs.

Separately, the Commerce Department said home construction plunged to a seasonally adjusted 479,000 homes last month, down 22.5 percent from the previous month. It was lowest level since April 2009, and the second-lowest on records dating back more than a half-century.

Recovery? What recovery? The only recovery that’s going to happen will be on January 20, 2013 when the new president is sworn in. So tell me. How’s that “Hope ‘n Change” working out?
