Anti-Bullying Teachers Unions Get Pushy for Better Pay and Benefits

Bullying has always been a problem in American government schools.  Statistics say there are over 2 million bullies lurking in the hallways and on playgrounds.

The two national teachers unions have developed expansive programs to curb bullying.  They’ve hosted entire conferences on the matter.  The National Education Association has published several web pages to the matter, as has the American Federation of Teachers.

As an aside, I am troubled by the recent focus on bullying.  Bullying is a problem – yes.  But the threshold of “bullying” has dropped significantly to the point where virtually any disagreement or

Of Profits and Power: Education Establishment Attacks Digital Learning

The education establishment is pulling out all the stops to stifle the movement to expand the use of technology to modernize the way students learn.

Digital education is a growing form of school choice.  Virtual charter schools are a natural way to provide access to top-notch instruction for students, regardless of their geographical location.  But the protectors of the status quo are doing everything they can do stop it.

Finally, their true colors are showing.

Dept. of Education Abolished Under President Santorum?

Rick Santorum did not come out and say he would try to abolish the U.S. Dept. of Education, but there are certainly encouraging signs that he might.

I know leftists will be in a tizzy. How can we ever survive without the DOE? Just fine is the correct answer. I was educated before the DOE was implemented in 1981. The greatest, brightest and smartest Americans ever were all pre-Dept. of Education, educated people. Guys like John Pierpont Morgan, John Francis Queeny, James J. Hill, Thomas Edison, George Vanderbilt, Dr. Jonas Edward Salk, and even leftist icon Warren Buffett. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates as well. So don’t tell me we need a U.S. Dept. of Education, no, we absolutely do not.

Another known fact that I have posted about numerous times. Prior to the DOE, we were at the top of the pack as far as education went, since the DOE was created and implemented, we are now in the bottom third of the middle of the pack, and our downward slide continues to this day.

from the Los Angeles Times:

“Yes, the government can help, but the idea that the federal government should be running schools, frankly much less that the state government should be running schools, is anachronistic.”

Santorum is correct. It is well beyond time to do away with the U.S. Dept. of Education, it is indeed “anachronistic.”

More Indoctrination From the ‘Occupy’ Songwriters at Kid Pan Alley

Earlier this week, a Virginia-based organization came under fire for leading 3rd grade students at Woodbrook Elementary in Charlottesville to write a song titled “We Are Part of the 99.”

The song, with its reference to the 1 percent and 99 percent was obviously talking about the Occupy protests that occurred around the country.
According to the school district’s story, the students wrote:

I used to be part of the 1 percent
I worked all the time
Never saw my family
Couldn’t make life rhyme
Then the bubble burst
When I was in 3rd grade, I knew about bubbles in the bath, not

Green Propaganda-Indoctrination Now Required in Maryland Classrooms

What have I said about the government-run public schools again? I believe I called them indoctrination centers and/or social engineering camps. Oh yes I stand by that statement because that’s what they are ever since the Dept of Education was created and implemented beginning in the 1980-81 school year. Reagan had the right idea by trying to abolish the Dept. of Education, but when both the House and Senate were run by Democrats, he just couldn’t get it done. Hopefully in a year and a half we can revisit the issue of abolishing the Dept. of Education when we have a real president and Republican control of both houses.

Speaking of indoctrination and social engineering in the government-run schools. Guess what Maryland is doing as a mandatory requirement for graduating high school? Some ridiculous bullshit called “Environmental Literacy.” You’ve got to be fucking kidding!

Maryland is the first state in the country to impose a new requirement to graduate from high school — something called “environmental literacy.”

Meanwhile, as the U.S. continues its downward slide in world education rankings, the kids will all know about environmental zealotry as the rest of the world passes us by. Unbelievable! The kids now are dumbasses in math, don’t know squat about U.S. History and the Constitution, at the bottom of the pack in writing skills, and we’re going to teach “Environmental Literacy?” Yeah, I can plainly see how bright the future is going to be in these capable hands.

“What kind of education is it going to be?” he asks. “Is it going to be fact-based? Or is it going to be theory-based, which is usually politically, theory driven. And you can think, it’s going to be about global warming or climate change.”

And that’s just it. No such thing as global warming and climate change, all the normal people know this. It’s all about power and money and nothing else. Retards still believe it, and half-retards either did believe it or are on the fence.

That’s what this is about. The climate change power brokers have lost and they want it back and they know it can’t be done with normal folks, so just do what the Soviet Union did. Indoctrinate and brainwash the young in the government-run public schools.

We need to stop this madness in its tracks. This un-American insanity has gone on long enough.
