Doctor-Patient Confidentiality… Not Exactly

If you don’t have any reason to vote Republican next year, I’ll give you the single most important reason why you should. Every Republican presidential candidate will repeal ObamaCare Soviet-style socialized medicine. Now, why am I bringing that up? Because of this:

It’s been said a thousand times: Congress had to pass President Obama’s  health care law in order to find out what’s in it. But, despite the repetitiveness, the level of shock from each new discovery never seems to recede.

This time, America is learning about the federal government’s plan to collect and aggregate confidential patient records for every one of us.

In a proposed rule from Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), the federal government is demanding insurance companies submit detailed health care information about their patients.

(See Proposed Rule:  Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act; Standards Related to Reinsurance, Risk Corridors and Risk Adjustment, Volume 76, page 41930. Proposed rule docket ID is HHS-OS-2011-0022 http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/FR-2011-07-15/pdf/2011-17609.pdf)

Your healthcare, doctor-patient relationship and records are none of the government’s business. At this point, your healthcare becomes dependant on a government bureaucrat, and every conversation you have with your doctor or even a nurse will become the government’s business. By the way, the government will then decide the best treatment, and ultimately that leads to who lives and who dies.

The more we find out about ObamaCare, the more shocked we are. If you don’t think “the government would ever do that,” I strongly suggest you read the healthcare law, and you will see how terribly wrong you really are.
