SAN DIEGO — Navy investigators are asking for public help as they examine the death of a former Penthouse model whose body washed up in San Diego County.
The San Diego Union-Tribune says authorities want to know whether anyone saw Anneka Vasta before joggers found her on a Marine training beach at Camp Pendleton on Jan. 4.
The 58-year-old had a broken neck and back and drowned. Authorities want to know how she got there and whether her death was a suicide.
Vasta drove off from her Los Angeles home two days earlier. Her sister, Susan Thoreson, says Vasta had bouts of paranoia during which she would flee.
Vasta was the 1975 Penthouse Pet of the Year. She later won a landmark sexual harassment suit against Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione.
Anneka, who actually had numerous aliases was born Marjorie Lee Thoreson in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1952 and was a high school drop-out. Back in the ’70′s she was quite hot as you will see if you click the link as we have gotten hold of her Penthouse photo’s and have them posted. About the only unattractive thing is, well, you pretty much need a lawn mower down there if you catch my drift (ish), but then it was 1975.
