Americans Still Favor By A Large Margin Nuclear Power A Year After Fukushima

And the sub-headline of this story via Gallup reads, Majority also still sees nuclear power as safe. That’s good. Common sense and cooler heads prevail.

Nuclear power is the safest power in this country. There has not been even one fatality related to nuclear power in this country, nor has there been one recorded health or radiation issue among plant workers. No other source of power, including the enviro-kooks “alternative energy” sources come close to the 100% safety record of nuclear power. That is a fact, look it up.

PRINCETON, NJ — One year after the tsunami and resulting failure of the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan, a majority of Americans continue to favor the use of nuclear energy as one of the ways to provide electricity for the U.S. The 57% who favor nuclear power this year is identical to the percentage measured in early March 2011, just before the Fukushima incident.

Most believe U.S. nuclear power plants are safe

Good. People are using their heads. Nuclear power is safe, so safe in fact, that not one person has died in a nuclear related incident at any power plant in this country, which makes it safer than wind and solar. And, their have been no ill health effects due to nuclear power plants. Can’t say that about windmills!

PRINCETON, NJ — Despite concerns about a possible nuclear disaster in the U.S., 58% of Americans think nuclear power plants in the U.S. are safe, while 36% say they are not. Americans are divided on the issue of increasing the number of nuclear power plants in this country, but these attitudes have not changed from 10 years ago.
