Does anyone see now why the founders were insistent about a small, limited government? Once again, we may well be expected to pay for an out-of-control government that refuses to live within its means, and steals from us to pay for their irresponsibility. Is anybody seeing any type of accountability by the government? Does anybody see the government cutting back? All I see is the government getting bigger and more creative about new ways to take from us.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) this week released a report that said taxing people based on how many miles they drive is a possible option for raising new revenues and that these taxes could be used to offset the costs of highway maintenance at a time when federal funds are short.

The first thing, all automakers should refuse to install any of the devices to track mileage. I doubt they will if it gets to that point, but they should. Secondly, I don’t know about you, but I won’t pay. I will disable any feature to track and tax my mileage. And thirdly, that will be the time a lynching party needs to be organized.

This should be so simple for all to see. The government is too damned big. How much more obvious can it be?
