Bulls Extend Timberwolves’ Season-Long Skid To Eight

      Derrick Rose had 23 points and 10 assists in three quarters and the Chicago Bulls blew out the Minnesota Timberwolves 108-91 on Wednesday night.

      Carlos Boozer had 24 points and 14 rebounds and the Bulls recorded 31 assists on 41 field goals to stay 2½ games ahead of Boston and Miami in the race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Hennepin Co. Encourages Workers to Take Days Off Without Pay

Hennepin County officials say they’re struggling with deficits and they’re asking county employees again for their help.  Today Commissioners agreed they would ask workers to take a special leave without pay this year–an average voluntary goal of 20 hours for each employee.

Last year, employees helped Hennepin County save $2.5 million by taking special leave without pay.

Rochester Airport Re-Opens, Suspicious Item Cleared

Rochester International Airport re-opened after being shut down and evacuated after a suspicious item was found in a checked bag around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the airport manager, TSA screeners found a suspicious object in the bag. Officials isolated the bag which was on a flight headed to Chicago.

A bomb squad from Bloomington was called in to help. The bomb squad cleared the suspicious item and the terminal.

Normal airport operations resumed

Shakopee Teacher’s Aide Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct

A Shakopee teacher’s aide accused of having sexual contact with a student has been charged with three counts of third degree Criminal Sexual Conduct.

Twenty-six year old Michelle Rose Chlan is accused of  having sexual relations with a male student, who was 16-years-old when the alleged relationship began. According to the charges, the encounters took place from June 2009 to July 2010.

Chlan met the student through her employment as a paraprofessional at Shakopee
