“That’s not what I’m about.”
Fox Nation, RCP and MRC-TV pick up on what must be the most awesome heckler Mitt Romney has ever met. While campaigning yesterday in Peoria, Illinois in advance of the primary today, a woman challenged Romney by demanding free birth control. Romney told her she’s at the wrong rally: Woman: ”So you’re
DANVILLE, Ill. – Americans might not agree on much these days, but we can all agree that kids should not be bullied at school.
But what happens when the school bully turns out to be the child’s teacher?
That concern was raised at a Danville school board meeting last night by parent and school board member Gina McGuire, who alleges her high school-aged son was “harassed” by a teacher over comments McGuire made on a social media website.
The nature of McGuire’s comments has not been made clear, but they may have been about the district’s ongoing contract
In his weekly address this past weekend, President Obama spoke specifically about corporate taxes on manufacturing and on outsourcing jobs, echoing his words from his State of the Union address last month:
No company should get a tax break for outsourcing jobs. Instead, tax breaks should go to manufacturers who set up shop here at home. Bigger tax breaks should go to high-tech manufacturers who create the jobs of the future. And if you relocate your company to a struggling community, you should get help financing that new plant, that new equipment, or
SPRINGFIELD — Illinois, unable to solve its long-running financial problems, was given the lowest credit rating of any state in the country by Moody’s Investors Service on Friday, a move that will increase costs to taxpayers.
A second agency, Standard & Poor’s, left its Illinois rating unchanged but warned of a negative outlook that could lead to a downgrade in the future. A day earlier, Fitch Ratings also left the rating unchanged and declared a stable outlook.
Lower credit ratings generally mean the state winds up paying more interest when it borrows money by selling bonds.
CARY, Ill. – For the past several years, Illinois’ Cary District 26 was a prime example of the damage a demanding teachers union and a weak school board can inflict on a public school system.
District 26 was in such bad financial shape that it started cutting student programs and borrowing against future tax revenues just to pay its bills, including the irresponsible and unsustainable retirement benefits it was paying out to teachers.
As required by the teachers’ union contract, retiring Cary teachers were given 6 percent annual pay raises during the last four years of employment, in order to drive up their pension benefits from the state. This practice gained notoriety as the “6-6-6” format, which is an accurate description of the plan and its effect on the budgets of schools and the state of Illinois.

In a video shot at #Occupy Chicago, Aisha Karim, a professor from Saint Xavier University, is shown preaching the gospel of Karl Marx to a cheering crowd in a display of stunning economic and historical ignorance – but was her speech part of a wider effort to unionize St. Xavier?
The video titled Communist Manifesto Teach-In @ Occupy Chi showing a speech by Professor Aisha Karim has flown under the radar for a couple of months – it had fewer than 400 views when I found it – but it’s another clear example of the explicitly Marxist strain in the #Occupy movement, how it relates directly to unionization, and how just plain silly its ivory tower thinking actually is.
Professor Karim is molding the minds of American’s young adults through her work as a teacher at places like the University of North Carolina, Greensboro where parents have spent their hard earned money so their kids can sit through classes like English 209: The Terrible Logic of Capitalism: A Survey of Postcolonial Literature.

Last week, the Chicago Tribune published a commentary piece I wrote about the Occupy Wall Street protesters in Chicago. They’ve been camped out near my office for the past few weeks, and I decided to engage them in conversation on my way home one night.
The media has likened the Occupy Wall Street protesters to the Tea Party, making the case that these protesters are the left’s version of the small government movement that has swept the nation.
This ain’t your daddy’s Democrat Party anymore. There was a time when Democrats actually opposed communism, now, they advocate it as evidenced by Raja Krishnamoorthi a Democrat candidate for congress in Illinois 8.
I refer to them as the Poputchik Party these days as it accurately describes them. For those of you that went to public school since the Dept. of Education was created and got gypped out of an education, I’ll tell you the definition of poputchik. It is the Russian word for fellow traveler of the communist party of the Soviet Union. Fellow traveler is one who agree’s and sympathizes with communists, but are not a card carrying member, so to speak. That is exactly what the Democrat Party has become.
They do indeed have more in common with Soviet-era communism than they do with JFK-era Democrats. Don’t argue with me unless you want to be publicly humiliated, do a little research before your knee starts jerking wildly and you spout off about something you are in complete ignorance of.
In this latest example you will see a Democrat congressional candidate openly support the Communist Party of the United States by standing in solidarity with them.
On October 1st, 2011 tea party groups from around the Midwest gathered at the TEACON convention in Schaumburg, Illinois. Democrat Raja Krishnamoorthi stated that he became outraged when he heard this event was taking place in his own backyard in the Illinois 8th congressional district. Raja told the Huffington Post that he planned to lead a protest against the event, which featured the likes of Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart and presidential candidate Herman Cain.
Once Raja made his appearance at the protest, he denied having planned the protest and claimed that he was deferring to, and joining, the protesters who already showed up outside the convention center. Read the rest
Evidence provided by the videomaker shows Krishnamoorthi outright lied about organizing the protest.
So you have to ask the good people of Illinois 8, do you really want a communist sympathizing liar to represent you?

Every time you “raise revenue,” I guess that’s the new, politically correct sanitized term for not calling a spade a spade, and calling it what it is, raising taxes, this is what happens. Yet the left still denies it. Time and time again it is proven throughout history, but those people, due to their mental illness, just don’t get it, and they never will.
“Yeah! Let’s raise revenue and soak the rich and make ‘em pay their fair share. That’ll solve all our problems!” Yeah well, how’s that working out for you?
In a trend that continues to worsen, more Illinoisans found themselves unemployed in the month of July.
Illinois lost more jobs during the month of July than any other state in the nation, according to the most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics report. After losing 7,200 jobs in June, Illinois lost an additional 24,900 non-farm payroll jobs in July. The report also said Illinois’s unemployment rate climbed to 9.5 percent. This marks the third consecutive month of increases in the unemployment rate.
Data released today by the bureau confirms this downward trajectory. When it comes to putting people back to work, Illinois is going backwards. Since January, Illinois has dropped 89,000 people from its employment rolls.
What happened in January? That’s right class, the Illinois tax increase went in to effect. “Gosh Wally, you don’t suppose that had something to do with it.” “Gee Beav, ya think?”
So with 89,000 less tax payers, how are you going to balance the budget again?
