Still think this crap is a swell idea? Well, you probably won’t after watching this video, and if you do… you’re an idiot. Soviet-style central planning at its finest, brought to you by the Obama Regime.

The Volt. Biggest piece of shit on the market along with the Fisker. The only reason this crap heap is still being produced is because of the government. In a free market (as opposed to Obamunisim) the Volt would have died.
It’s a safety hazard, a ticking molotov cocktail. Funny, whenever the private sector has something a little off, all the leftist politicians call for new laws, regulations or the outright banning of a product. You’re not seeing that with Government Motors are you?
DETROIT (AP) — General Motors will strengthen the structure around the batteries in its Volt electric cars to keep them safe during crashes, a person briefed on the matter said Thursday.
GM will ask Volt owners to return the cars to dealers for structural modifications, said the person, who did not want to be identified because GM executives plan to announce the repairs later Thursday.
The fixes are similar to a recall and involve about 8,000 Volts sold in the U.S. in the past two years. GM is making the repairs after three Volt batteries caught fire following crash tests done by federal safety regulators. The fires occurred seven days to three weeks after tests and have been blamed on a coolant leak that caused an electrical short.
Let’s cut to the chase. The car is a piece of shit, a bad idea from the get-go. It’s junk that shouldn’t be allowed on any city street except the one leading to the town dump.
Anybody that buys one is either A.) Stupid, or B.) a self righteous jerk-off looking for attention and a soapbox to stand on while preaching to us minions about “environmental justice,” while we know this is a lemon in spite of the elitist-speak from said jerk-off.
You don’t need to tell me the Chevy Volt is a piece of shit. A total and complete failure. Now we find out this piece of junk is subsidized by the American taxpayer to the tune of a quarter million per car (not counting the socialization/bailout).
Good old Soviet-style central planning of the Obama Administration is the only thing keeping this dud on the manufacturing line. Only 127 sold last month to the nations elitist dopes that don’t have a clue.
But the Volt sales are going up. The government is buying them, the only reason why they are still being produced.
Think about that for a minute. We bailed out and nationalized GM for how many billions again? Next, you will find out in this post that the taxpayer is also subsidizing the manufacture of this thing of up to 250k per car and, we’re subsidizing it again as the government (our tax dollars) are purchasing the car. Two subsidies and a bailout. Ain’t government central planning great!
Analyst: ‘This might be the most government-supported car since the Trabant’
Ever heard of the Trabant? Leave it to a central planned government to manufacture one of the worst cars in history.
Each Chevy Volt sold thus far may have as much as $250,000 in state and federal dollars in incentives behind it – a total of $3 billion altogether, according to an analysis by James Hohman, assistant director of fiscal policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.
Hohman looked at total state and federal assistance offered for the development and production of the Chevy Volt, General Motors’ plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. His analysis included 18 government deals that included loans, rebates, grants and tax credits. The amount of government assistance does not include the fact that General Motors is currently 26 percent owned by the federal government….
GM has estimated they’ve sold 6,000 Volts so far. That would mean each of the 6,000 Volts sold would be subsidized between $50,000 and $250,000, depending on how many government subsidy milestones are realized.
If those manufacturers awarded incentives to produce batteries the Volt may use are included in the analysis, the potential government subsidy per Volt increases to $256,824….
“It just goes to show there are certain folks that will spend anything to get their vision of what people should do,” said State Representative Tom McMillin, R-Rochester Hills. “It’s a glaring example of the failure of central planning trying to force citizens to purchase something they may not want. … They should let the free market make those decisions.”
“This might be the most government-supported car since the Trabant,” said Hohman, referring to the car produced by the former Communist state of East Germany.
According to GM CEO Dan Akerson, the average Volt owner makes $170,000 per year.
The Chevy Volt is America’s Trabant. The Edsel of the 21st century.
Government again. Why people think government is the answer is beyond me.
First off, what type of fool would spend over 40,000 dollars for a little car that supposedly runs on a battery, and according to their own advertising, can only travel 35 miles on a charge? Not only that, but the battery gets hot and catches the car on fire. I’m almost ready to say that you deserve to get screwed if you bought that piece of GM Junk called the Chevy Volt.
GM Junk said recently that they’d buy back the crappy and expensive waste of money Volt’s if you had concerns about yet another safety issue with that government and union partnered company. Well, not exactly. They changed their mind and cranked up the spin machine.
General Motors attempted to clarify last week conflicting reports on whether the automaker was willing to buy back Chevy Volts from owners worried about battery safety.
“The program we put in place (earlier this week) hasn’t changed,” said Faye Roberts, GM Canada spokeswoman. “We’re going to reach out to our Volt customers and make them aware of the investigation and as part of that, we want them to get any questions they have answered and if they feel uncomfortable then they do have the option of getting a loaner vehicle.”…
“On the question of the buyback, I think Mr. Akerson was taken a bit out of context,” she said.
Indian givers whose word is no good. Well, that shouldn’t surprise anyone. After all, we’re talking about a government and union run company.
One of the reasons Ford can depend on me to be a repeat customer is because they took no bailout, and are a well run company. On the other hand, a snowball has a better chance in the Sahara Desert than Government Motors has of me ever buying a piece of GM junk. It’s never going to happen.
Ford is in hot water with Comrade Obama for refusing to take a bailout. Don’t kid yourself, he very much wants to control Ford like he does GM. But this isn’t the first time Ford has the ire of a tyrannical regime, FDR didn’t like them either and tried to starve them out of business for not playing ball. What? You didn’t know FDR was a douchebag? You actually think he was a great president and human being? Let me guess, you were educated in public school after the US Dept. of Education was created. Am I right? Of course I am.
America is still fighting over President Obama’s costly bailout of Chrysler and General Motors. Especially the owners of Ford, the only member of Detroit’s “Big Three” who rejected the government dole and emerged perfectly healthy.
In its most political ad in the so-called “Drive One” ads where real drivers are thrust before cameras to explain why they picked Ford, a real Ford F-150 pick-up driver is featured…
Sitting and looking sincere and serious, Chris says: “I wasn’t going to buy another car that was bailed out by our government. I was going to buy from a manufacturer that’s standing on their own: win, lose, or draw. That’s what America is about is taking the chance to succeed and understanding when you fail that you gotta’ pick yourself up and go back to work. Ford is that company for me.”
Yup! Exactly how America is supposed to be.
A Ford spokeswoman confirmed that Chris is an actual Ford owner and that those are his real words (the ad series is all unscripted).
Hey! Speaking of bailouts… Did anyone get a check in the mail from GM yet? Oh! Silly me. We aren’t getting any checks in the mail from GM, all that money went to big labor. Here’s some more good news:
According to a government report, taxpayers will lose $14 billion in the bailout.
