IDF boards pro-Hamas activist vessels bound for Gaza in violation of international law

A short while ago, Israeli Navy soldiers boarded the vessels which were en-route to the Gaza Strip, attempting to break the maritime security blockade that is in accordance with international law.

The boarding was carried out following numerous calls to the activists onboard and during different points at sea. Following their unwillingness to cooperate, and after ignoring calls to divert to the port of Ashdod, the decision was made to board the vessels and lead them there.

Contact was made between the Israel Navy and the vessels Tahrir and Saorise which are sailing towards the Gaza Strip. The purpose of this attempt is to create a provocation against the State of Israel, to break the maritime security blockade on Gaza, and to undermine Israel’s security.

According to international law, it is lawful for Israel to impose a naval blockade on the Gaza Strip because it is currently in a state of armed conflict with the Hamas terrorist organization, the ruling entity of the Gaza Strip (see the law of blockade for more information). The Hamas terrorist organization is designated as a terrorist entity by the US, UK, EU and state of Israel.

Since taking over the Gaza Strip in 2007, the Hamas terrorist organization has launched thousands of rockets into major Israeli population centers, populated by one million Israeli civilians. During the last decade, Hamas has orchestrated a long series of suicide bombings, killing hundreds of Israeli civilians. The Hamas terrorist organization continues to smuggle rockets into Gaza via the sea and underground tunnels.

50 plus rockets fired from Gaza in to Israel

According to Sen. Patrick Leahy it’s Israel’s fault! The rocket attack was purely justified because Israel violated the Palestinians, Hamas, Hezbollah, and every other militant terrorist group in the middle east’s “human rights.” Right Pat? You overrated old fossil that belongs in a rest home.

Israeli security officials said seven other people were wounded, including two children, by more than 50 rockets fired from the Hamas-ruled territory Saturday. In Gaza, an Israeli air strike wounded a Palestinian man seriously, medics said.

A militant group called the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) claimed responsibility for the deadly rocket strike at a house in the southern city of Beersheba.

Israeli navy seizes French yacht carrying pro-Palestinian activists

Good for the Israeli navy! We support you 100% without hesitation. There is a blockade in effect, I want to know who these pompous, elite assholes think they are and why they think they can do as they please and nothing applies to them except their own agenda. “I can confirm that the yacht has been boarded and that everything went smoothly, there were no casualties,” the spokeswoman said after marines boarded the “Dignite-Al-Karama” yacht in the eastern Mediterranean.

Chief military spokesman Brigadier-General Yoav Mordechai said the passengers were transferred from the yacht to one of the warships sent to intercept it and were en route to Ashdod.

The 17-passenger yacht had declared an Egyptian port as its destination when it left Greek waters Sunday, but sailed toward the Palestinian enclave, aiming to arrive Tuesday.

It had planned to sail to Islamist Hamas-ruled Gaza as part of a flotilla carrying activists and aid, but other vessels were prevented from sailing after docking in Greece.
