Government bails on GM bailout, taxpayers lose billions

That’s what happens when you have a community organizer and fellow traveler with no business experience assuming control of a company. That GM bailout will cost us 50 billion dollars. Has everyone been noticing that the Obama administration is costing us a whole lot of money? We can’t afford another 4 years of this idiot in the White House.

The U.S. government plans to sell a significant share of its remaining stake in General Motors Co. this summer despite the disappointing performance of the auto maker’s stock, people familiar with the matter said.

A sale within the next several months would almost certainly mean U.S. taxpayers will take a loss on their $50 billion rescue of the Detroit auto maker in 2009.

Never should have bailed GM out. It’s not too big to fail. Anyone that claims it is, is a Marxist. I would have let it go if I was in Obama’s shoes. I’ve been saying that since day one. But when you’re a union puppet, I suppose that changes things. What did Obama say about special interests again during the campaign? Another lie.

Here’s something for you to ponder. You know that 61 billion dollars the GOP wanted to cut from the budget, but Obama and the Democrats whined and screamed and told the American people that was barbaric and extreme. That the elderly will die, yada, yada, yada… Well they just took 50 billion dollars and threw it away. Go figure.

Now, the headline of that Wall Street Journal story is, US Hurries to Sell GM Stake. Now then, if you’re a typical community organizing, labor friendly leftist, you won’t get it, but the rest of us know this isn’t good. That headline should raise a big red flag to any normal person. They’re trying to dump the stock because something bad is on the horizon. Whatever could it possibly be?

Shares have been hurt by rising fuel prices…

Who is actually simple enough not to see that coming? Obama’s energy policy. I dunno, maybe “The One” envisions GM and the other automakers to outfit every car and truck with a great big mast, with a windmill on top, or a bridle attached to a unicorn ridden by fairies sprinkling pixie dust on the roads, chasing rainbows.

Two-thirds of oil and gas leases in Gulf, 45% onshore inactive

Ever wonder why energy cost’s are necessarily skyrocketing, other than that’s what Obama promised us? Between him and a whack-job Interior Secretary (Ken Salazar) who is an honest to goodness tree hugging get down on your hands and knee’s and perform cunnilingus on Mother Earth environmental zealot, change that, environmental extremist, you have your reasons.

Remember, Obama illegally halted all offshore drilling and exploration even after a court ruling ordered him to reverse his executive order that is unconstitutional. So far, he has refused to do so.

You want energy and gas prices lower? You have one and only one choice. Do not vote to reelect Barack Obama next year. It really is as simple as that.

WASHINGTON – An Interior Department report to be released Tuesday says more than two-thirds of offshore oil and gas leases in the Gulf of Mexico are sitting idle.

According to the report, obtained by The Associated Press, those inactive swaths of the Gulf could potentially hold more than 11 billion barrels of oil and 50 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. The report also shows that 45 percent of all onshore oil and gas leases are inactive.

President Barack Obama ordered the Interior Department review earlier this month amid pressure to curb rising gas prices. The White House says Obama will address his plans for the country’s energy security during a speech in Washington today.

You can probably bet the farm that Obama’s going to promote his green agenda and lie to you by claiming it will create jobs. Wrong answer. It will not, and it will not ease our energy costs, nor will it provide an abundant supply of energy. Look at Obama’s model, Spain.

Or better yet, look at California. Where are all their green jobs? Where is all that extra energy? Remember, California has been at this game since the 1970′s.

My guess is he will also blame the oil companies for the inactivity that he and his administration created with their moratoriums.

4 dollar a gallon gas prices are here

Why is the media ignoring the gas prices which are now touching 4 dollars a gallon? Remember all those people who were “outraged,” even if it was just astroturf, phony and manufactured outrage at 4 dollar a gallon gas when it happened under Bush? Why don’t they seem outraged now? Why was it okay to be outraged, and attacked by the media when it was Bush, but now, not a word? Oh yeah! The left’s monopoly on hypocrisy and phoniness strikes again!

You see in my world, which would be completely foreign to leftists (reality usually is) 4 bucks a gallon was not okay when Bush was president, and it’s not okay with Obama as president. In my world, there aren’t two sets of standards, there’s only one.

Americans are feeling the pain at the pump. In Hawaii, the sting just got a little worse.

The state reached the dubious milestone Monday of being the first in recent years where the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline has reached $4, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Report.

The Aloha State’s average of $4 per gallon is the highest in the nation, beating California’s average of $3.96. Alaska has the third highest average price at $3.90.

“Of course I’m not happy about it at all, but no one is,” said Irma Lai, who was filling up her small SUV at a Big Island gas station that was charging $4.22 a gallon. “What the hell can I do? I have to drive. I can’t walk everywhere. I use a cane.” Read more

I filled up a couple of days ago in Mound at 3.59 per gallon.

With that in mind, if you have a boat here on Lake Minnetonka and you fill up your tanks at a marina, you can add about 2 bucks per gallon, so at this point, marine fuel would probably be close to 5 and a half bucks per gallon. It’s going to be an expensive summer out on the water.
