Soldiers and officials along a stretch of Japan’s northeastern coast warned residents that the area could be hit by another tsunami Monday and ordered them to higher ground. But the Meteorological Agency said there was no risk of another deadly wave.
The warning came as an explosion rocked the nearby Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear power plant. The blast was felt 30 miles (50 kilometers) away by Associated Press journalists in the coastal town
As unfortunate as the random act of God was yesterday in Japan, it will have an effect on us too. With the building housing the Fukushima I reactor exploding, that’s all the knee-jerk crybaby’s in this country need to stop nuclear power production, with the Knee-jerker-in-chief leading the way. I’ll bet money on that. Any takers?
I’ll just bet we will be inundated with the lame cries for wind and solar with this tragedy in Japan being exploited by the funny people that normally are left of center. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if most of them were secretly cheering, just to advance their screwed up green agenda.
Among the most worrying developments was the possible meltdown of a nuclear reactor near the quake’s epicenter. Edano said an explosion caused by vented hydrogen gas destroyed the exterior walls of the building where the reactor is, but not the actual metal housing enveloping the reactor.
Edano said the radiation around the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant had not risen after the blast, but had in fact decreased. Read more
