This guy just can’t quit spending, even when there is no money left, because he spent it all. In a news story posted here on Saturday it was reported:
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says one answer to high gasoline prices is to spend money developing renewable energy sources.
No. It is not the answer, and I’ll tell you why. It is not the government’s responsibility. If something or some breakthrough occurs, it is the private sector that will do it, not the government. The government has no business in the energy industry, period. That is not the role of government. Everything we have, every great invention and product is from entrepreneurs, not the government. Just like I said was going to happen, is. The energy crisis is being used as a prop for Obama’s failed green agenda.
Green doesn’t work. Maybe some day, if the government puts its snout back in its own dish, and the entrepeneur will invent something (without government funding) that will change energy forever with the added bonus of becoming very wealthy, and creating jobs for thousands more.
Let’s be honest and call a spade a spade. Obama hates traditional sources of energy. He’s an environmental zealot that has declared war on coal, oil and gas. You don’t need me telling you that, you’ve all heard him and you all see his actions. That’s fine. He can be one of those people. But, he does not have the right to make us all suffer from his utopian dreams of unicorns, rainbows and fairy dust.
Green, alternative energy is a failure. We all know it. Take the subsidies away, and take the mandates away, and it dies.
Look how absurd Obama’s statement is, it’s utterly retarded. There’s no common sense or logic to this at all:
“Instead of subsidizing yesterday’s energy sources, we need to invest in tomorrow’s,” Obama said.
Love the propaganda. Invest! HA! HA! HA! LMAO!!! What he means is spend money we don’t have, and charge it to the taxpayers. Stop using that fraudulent term, “Invest,” in reference to government, okay Barack? It has nothing to do with investing, it’s spending, period. And we get nothing out of it except red ink. Kinda like with GM.
He talks about “subsidizing the old.” HA! HA! HA! LMAO!!! I’m sure glad you brought that up, Chief. Let’s do talk subsidies.
The old. Coal, natural gas, petroleum, nuclear and hydroelectric. According to a 2007 study by the federal governments own Energy Information Administration, those 5 “old” energy sources combined receive subsidies totaling $2.95 per megawatt-hour. Just wind power alone receives $23.37 per megawatt-hour. Solar even more.
So let’s get the Obama agenda straight. He doesn’t want to subsidize old energy, but he does for new. The new green energies that have the most notoriety and are in use today are subsidized at a combined rate of $52.07 per megawatt-hour. Old energy is $2.95 per megawatt-hour.
I don’t know about you, but gee, I’d love to pay 18 times more than I am right now for energy. Wouldn’t you? The question is, can you afford to? I suppose under Obama’s type of thinking, that’s no big deal. He’ll just invent another government program with money we don’t have, to aid the people who can’t pay for the new cost of energy. Makes perfect sense to me!
He wasn’t kidding when he said, “Under my plan, energy prices would necessarily skyrocket.” You have to listen to this guy. He does mean what he says.
In May 2007, Senator Lamar Alexander asked the Energy Information Administration (EIA) to develop an analysis of Federal energy subsidies focusing on subsidies to electricity production. Senator Alexander also specified that the analysis should be limited to subsidies provided by the Federal government, those that are energy-specific, and those that provide a financial benefit with an identifiable budget impact.
