Drill Baby, Drill: Poll Shows Americans Favor Offshore Drilling 69-31

I told you this would happen, it always does. Whenever there is a big burden on your wallet, well, that’s a game changer. “It’s for the environment,” isn’t heard so much anymore when those people are actually feeling the effects. They don’t mind it so much when other people are paying, but when they have to, well, like I said, it’s a game changer.

It’s almost exactly one year after the BP oil spill at the Macondo well, but according to a new CNN poll, most Americans support the expansion of offshore drilling.  The poll, released Tuesday, reveals that 69 percent of the public favor increased drilling in domestic waters.

That number is up 20 points from last June when the spill was still gushing oil into the Gulf of Mexico. It is, however, at the same level of similar polls during the summer of 2008. It’s likely no coincidence that 2008 was the last time Americans were facing the prospect of paying $5 a gallon for gas.

$5.00 a gallon gas? We’re already there. It’s just going to keep going up under this administration. And actually, that’s some pain I’m willing to endure if it means the end of the Obama presidency.

Are people who consider themselves (God forbid) Democrats actually a little annoyed with this? Better be sitting down for this one, gang. Oddly enough, yes they are.

It’s not just Republicans who favor increased drilling this time around, either. Fifty-seven percent of those in favor of drilling identified as Democrat.

For you Democrats… A little FYI. The court has ruled and ordered offshore drilling to resume and Obama’s illegal moratorium to be null and void. Your boy Obama flipped the courts the canary and he is still standing firm on his illegal moratorium. Think about that next year, okay? Particularly around the first Tuesday in November. Thanks!
