Big Government Will Cut Off All TV and Radio Broadcasts on Nov. 9

Yes, it’s true, The big, bloated tyrannical federal government will temporarily cut off all communication on the 9th. It’s supposed to be a test, they want to make sure they have the tools in place for complete control of every broadcast outlet in the country. Somebody wanna tell me why? The government doesn’t need, or have the right to control broadcasting of everything. Somehow I believe our founders are rolling over in their graves. Does 1984 ring a bell?

The people who suffer from the mental illness called denial will claim it’s no big deal, the government isn’t going to shut down communications and it’s merely a public safety issue. Well, those people who ignore the facts, and the facts being that “public safety,” or any other “Public-fill-in-the-blank” are always the excuses of tyrants. Always, 100% of the time, no exceptions. Maybe not now, but sometime. Mark my words. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. It’s only a matter of time.

Only the President has the authority to activate EAS at the national level, and he has delegated that authority to the Director of FEMA.  The test will be conducted jointly by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through  FEMA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS).

In essence, the authority to seize control of all television and civilian communication has been asserted by the executive branch and handed to a government agency.

I don’t like this, I don’t like this at all. The government has become and is becoming way, way too powerful, and throughout history, that has never been good news.

Absolute power corrupts, absolutely: Homeland Security looked into covert body scans

I only have a four word sentence for DHS or any other government agency. One four word sentence and they can take it any way they want. And I’m sure those four words resonate with most Americans as well. “Don’t (word begins with “F” and rhymes with buck) with me.” The end result will be a famous nine word sentence. “You mess with the bull, you get the horn.” That’s not negotiable.

The Homeland Security Department paid contractors millions of dollars to develop and study surveillance systems that could covertly track pedestrians and check under people’s clothing with airport-style body scanners as they enter train stations, bus depots or major events, newly released documents show.

Two contracts the department signed in 2005 and 2006 were part of its effort to acquire technology to find suicide bombers in a crowd of moving people, according to documents given to the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), a privacy-rights group that is suing Homeland Security.

The department dropped the projects in a “very early” phase after testing showed flaws, Homeland Security spokesman Bobby Whithorne says.

It’s one thing to “drop in” on a conversation or message from a location that has shown a pattern of transmissions to say… Yemen, or fits a specific profile, and quite another to spy on the people randomly.

Nobody is really simple enough to believe that DHS dropped this, are they? One only needs to go back to early last month. Remember the Super Bowl? So, who else believes DHS needs to be eliminated? Am I the only one?

Backscatter scanners, coming to a sidewalk near you….citizen

The TSA’s rollout of full-body backscatter scanners at airports hasn’t pleased too many people (other than the manufacturers of said scanners). Now a handful of newly uncovered documents show that the Dept. of Homeland Security has been considering bringing that invasive technology out of the airport and out to the public realm.

The documents, obtained by the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) demonstrate DHS’ interest in exploring the use of these scanners, among other devices, to monitor everything from city streets to train stations and large events. Read More
