D.B. Cooper

D.B. Cooper is a legend around these parts, namely because Northwest Airlines was based here in Minneapolis, and D.B., was the only hijacker to have never been caught or killed domestically. It’s also kind of creepy for me personally as my older sister was a stew on Northwest about the time D.B. made his infamous parachute jump out the tail door of a 727 (no, she was not on D.B.’s flight).

Over the last 40 years the “experts” within the FBI and others have mostly concluded that Cooper did not survive the jump, or if he did, died in the woods. I have never believed that. He got away with it, and I still believe that to this day. Now, the FBI seems to think so, too.

There’s a great story by John Stevens of the UK Daily Mail about D.B. Cooper entitled, Is the mystery of DB Cooper about to be solved? FBI reveals it has new suspect 40 years after America’s most elusive fugitive parachuted from a hijacked plane. It’s a fascinating story that I hope you read, and enjoy as much as I did.
