That would be Ray “Gimmie more power and money” Lahood’s department. NO! No more money, no more taxes.
Senate Budget Committee ranking member Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) took Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood to task Thursday for the Obama administration’s call for a massive increase in transportation spending.
Given the record deficit this year, Sessions said he was surprised to see Obama’s 2012 budget call for an 11 percent spending increase and a 9.5 percent increase for the Education and Energy departments, respectively.
As usual, he does it again. You’ve seen me write about these two boondoggle waste of money bureaucracies before. I’ve said they both need to be eliminated. We don’t need the Dept. of Energy which was a Carter created bureaucracy, and the Dept. of Education, another Carter created bureaucracy to appease the teachers unions. Both of them should be eliminated. But not in the funny little world of Barack Obama. Oh no, they need to be expanded! Is he still doing cocaine? He’s got to be because something isn’t right with how he thinks.
The new tax would be necessary, in part, because the gasoline tax used to fund the highway trust fund is collecting less revenue than projected due to increasing fuel efficiency.
And who’s fault is that? Once again, Barack Obama and his new CAFE standards, not to mention the failure to be drilling for our own oil. This is all his failed policies, everything like this is happening just like I told you it would two years ago. Every single time the government sticks its nose in to something, there are always consequences that affect all of us.
To solve the problem, lift all CAFE standards, and start drilling and building nuclear power plants. It’s so simple, it really is.
