So let me get this straight. The Obama administration is fighting Judicial Watch tooth-and-nail to avoid releasing photographs of the capture and killing of Osama bin Laden, citing national security reasons. And at the same time, administration officials allegedly leaked information about the bin Laden raid to a Hollywood film director?
That’s what press reports seem to indicate. And we’re now trying to get to the bottom of this emerging scandal.

Hearsay is inadmissible in court. It’s pretty hard to convict someone of murder without a body. In fact, you can’t. We still haven’t seen Binny’s body. Factually speaking, we can’t say Binny is dead. I think he probably is, but without proof, I can’t say it is a fact. Nobody can.
For arguments sake, let’s roll with the story of the week that Binny is dead, and take it as fact. Obama won’t release the pictures, why?
“It is important to make sure that very graphic photos of somebody who was shot in the head are not floating around as an incitement to additional violence or as a propaganda tool,” said the president.[...]
In explaining his choice not to release the photo, Mr. Obama said that “we don’t need to spike the football.” He said that “given the graphic nature of these photos it would create a national security risk.”
Oh. I see. Kinda like Daniel Pearl (top) Dead American troops hung from a bridge (middle) or Nick Berg (bottom). No, we sure wouldn’t want to upset anybody, would we? It’s a (yawn) “national security issue.”
What else did Obama say? I know I have that quote here somewhere. Oh yeah! Here we go. Check this out by our fearless leader:
“We don’t trot out this stuff as trophies.”
No, we certainly don’t want to do that. Why some would call that politicizing the killing of Binny for personal, reelection reasons. We are decent, and nobody would stoop to that, right? Politicizing a killing to get reelected. Who would be that tasteless?
It was a “gutsy call” by the president, don’t you think? Gutsy call, gutsy call, gutsy call. Every media outlet is using that term, “gutsy call.” The White House, members of congress and the administration all agree, and use the term “gutsy call” quite freely and quite often.
Hmmm. I wonder what would happen if you… oh, I dunno. Typed gutsycall.com in to your address bar? Where do you suppose that would take you?
No. We certainly wouldn’t want to politicize Binny’s demise or “trot out this stuff as trophies” now, would we?
