FOLLOW UP: Democrat Gov. Bev Perdue’s call to suspend election not a joke

Just like I thought. Nope, no joke, no sarcasm, just serious talk from yet another poputchik within the Democrat Party. I don’t know why we call them Democrats anymore, they aren’t even remotely close to being anything democratic. The Poputchik Party is a more realistic and accurate label as they have more in common with communism/socialism than they do with JFK. The progressives have destroyed and taken over that political party and reshaped it in to something it was never intended to be.

I thought her comments were politically motivated, well, as it turns out…

The congressional Democrats are wildly unpopular in North Carolina, so she may have been trying to invent a solution to save their jobs from public accountability.

Isn’t that just like a Democrat? Anything for power! Think about that when you go to the polls next year.

via The Daily Caller:

Newly released audio contradicts the claims of Perdue’s press team that her call Tuesday for suspending Congressional election was a joke or hyperbole. In the recording, her tone is matter-of-fact and her comments are part of a serious speech.

Democrat suggests suspending elections

Well, if it had to be anyone, you just knew it had to be a Democrat. Like I’ve been saying for quite some time, they aren’t Democrats anymore, they’re poputchiks. I can say with complete certainty, the day that happens is the day I take up arms and do my part to overthrow a tyrannical government. That’s non-negotiable. People who talk like that (suspending elections) need to be rounded up and interned, tried and found guilty of treason and hung by the neck until dead. No exceptions. We really need to get that House Un-American Activities Committee going again, no doubt in my mind whatsoever.

Enter N.C. Gov. Bev Perdue. Was she serious, or not? That’s the question. I’m not going to accuse her of being serious, what I’m doing is merely telling you what she said. You can come to your own conclusion. Either way, talk like that is un-American and has no place in this country, particularly from an elected official. That’s not something you “joke” about.

Perdue’s full statement:

“You have to have more ability from Congress, I think, to work together and to get over the partisan bickering and focus on fixing things. I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won’t hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that. The one good thing about Raleigh is that for so many years we worked across party lines. It’s a little bit more contentious now but it’s not impossible to try to do what’s right in this state. You want people who don’t worry about the next election.”

Of course Democrats and her people brush it off as a joke. To that I say an absolute truth. It’s an old quote and I don’t know who said it first, but it goes like this: “There’s a grain of truth in every jest.”

Her statement doesn’t look like a joke to me. It looks as though she’s serious. There’s nothing in there to indicate any sarcasm, a punch line, nothing. What do you think?
