Successful 50th Anniversary for Bayfield’s Apple Festival

Another year of Bayfield Apple Fest is in the record books and this year they made some noise.

More than sixty thousand visitors were expected for the festival’s 50th anniversary.

There were plenty of carmel apples and other sweet treats, as well as numerous high school marching bands.

In honor of the golden year many former festival queens and grand marshals participated in the parade including the fest’s 2nd queen, Jaquie Johnson Sebastion. Read the rest

FYI: Apple Fest Weekend Publishing Info

It’s almost Thursday, Apple Fest weekend in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin, so you know what’s coming. Yup! The auto blogger for a few days as we head north to our home for the weekend to enjoy all the Apple Fest activities. We’re leaving tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon and won’t be returning to the Twin Cities until Monday evening, October 10th.

Per usual, there will be no Tune Time or Sunday Founders posts this weekend, nor any Navy posts, and the comments have been disabled until we get back Monday evening.

So… have a good weekend, and if you’re up for the Apple Fest, perhaps our paths will cross.

50th Annual Bayfield Apple Festival

Wisconsin’s premiere fall festival (held the first full October weekend annually) celebrating apple orchards, produce, and apple products. Festivities include food booths, arts and crafts, live music, carnival and grand parade.

Located on the pristine shores of Lake Superior, the Bayfield Apple Festival is listed among the “Top Ten Autumn Festivals in North America” by the Society of American Travel Writers, attracting over 50,000 visitors to this little harbor town for a fun-filled autumn weekend.  This event features over 46 orchard and food booths selling Bayfield’s apples, apple desserts & delicacies, over 150 arts and crafts booths, carnival rides and games, live entertainment by Bayfield’s own Big Top Chautauqua performers, apple pie and peeling contests, and a grand parade.
