Big Brother Nanny-Stasi State recommends full ban on use of cell phones while driving

Have you noticed how much freedom the government has taken lately? It’s always in the name of public safety, public health, or some other public fill-in-the-blank and this is no different. It’s typical leftist knee-jerk syndrome. The excuse of “saving lives” strikes me as odd considering they are mostly in favor of abortion and making abortions easier. Kinda makes them hypocrites. And the sheep that go along with nonsense like this have absolutely no regard for freedom, they are the one’s that would trade liberty for a little security, and they deserve neither. This has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with more government intrusion.

Lake Minnetonka Liberty warned you about Ray “Gimmie More Power” LaHood and his Transportation Dept’s potential ban on cell phones in cars late last winter. It’s moving forward in yet another soon to be failed insane government attempt to legislate common sense.

There are many situations where one may need to use a cell phone while driving. As an example, perhaps you’re being chased by a road rage guy who wants to run you off the road because he doesn’t like how you drive, perhaps a medical emergency and you’re on the phone with a hospital. Common sense indicates if it’s not urgent, don’t talk and drive. But no, we obviously need big government enacting yet another ban in their insane attempt to legislate common sense.

Back in the day, before this country had a socialist mentality, a state would make a law. Something to the effect of, if you’re yapping on a phone and cause an accident, automatic jail time and a loss of your license. If it were to happen again, maybe prison time and a revocation of your license. If you kill someone, automatic prison time and the loss of your license forever. But no, the socialists want to take another freedom and enact another ban in the name of “saving lives.” Public Safety.

Distracted driving they call it. Hmmm… what’s next? Banning food in your cars? Coffee? A soda? Turning the radio station? Seriously, how much of this bullshit is enough? Maybe we should ban talking while driving, or ban crying children. Shhh, I know. I probably just gave some nanny a couple of idea’s.

Or how about picking up a pen while you’re driving like the cop in the post we published earlier today.

Seriously, can we please stop with the Nanny-Stasi State crap? Please?

Only in that fruity city, San Francisco

I’ve never believed in aliens from another world for most of my life, but the educated idiots that run San Francisco have made me change my mind. There is no question those people live in a different reality than the rest of us.

The latest city initiative by the Nanny State city… Banning goldfish. Yup, I kid you not fellow Earthling. The Martians that run that city are proposing to do just that. No kidding!

I think what we need to do is wall off San Francisco and declare it a mental institution. It’s just…. I dunno. Something else to make you go, “Hmmm.”

NYC Nanny State Food Nazi Leroy Comrie Proposes Bill Banning ‘Happy Meals’

Yeah, he’s a Democrat. What did you expect? They know better than everybody else and if you are given a choice, you will choose wrong.

[Leroy] Comrie planned to introduce his own bill Wednesday that would essentially rewrite what could currently be considered a “Happy Meal.” The bill would require establishments that offer toys with food make sure the meals are 500 calories or less and have low fat and low sodium totals.

Penalties would be steep: between $200 to $2,500 for repeat restaurant offenders who use toys to sell unhealthy meals.

Comrie said fast food restaurants know exactly what they’re doing.

Does anybody in this country have a sense of personal responsibility anymore? If you don’t want your kid eating a happy meal, don’t buy one. That’s how freedom works. It’s not the fast food that’s the problem, it’s the progressive freedom taking tyrants like Leroy that are the problem.

Great Britain’s reply to EU automobile ban: Piss Off!

Common sense has quickly prevailed in jolly old…. as the British government rejects the kooky EU’s draconian proposal of banning the automobile in all European cities.

The U.K. would be wise to withdraw from the EU. The EU is nothing but a new world order type of socialist, kooky tyranny, much like the United Nations except on a smaller scale. If I were David Cameron, I’d be pulling the U.K. out, post haste and putting the word “Great” back in front of the word, “Britain.”

The UK has rejected proposals from the EU which call for a ban on petrol and diesel cars from city centres by 2050.

“We will not be banning cars from city centres anymore than we will be having rectangular bananas,” said UK Transport Minister Norman Baker.

Well said, Norman!

Climate Kookiness: EU to ban cars from cities by 2050

I keep thinking of the title to that Michael J. Fox movie, “Back to the future.” Have you noticed yet what the environmental nutbags are trying to do? Stop progress and return to a more primative time of say, the mid-1800′s.

So, how are you supposed to get around? Ride public transportation? What if you don’t want to use public transportation? Whatever happened to freedom?

So what if you live in London and want to take a drive to Cornwall for a weekend getaway? What will you have to do? Take public transportation to a point outside the city limits where you must park your automobile?

Oh, I get it. It’s about CO2 and the non-existant climate change. Save the planet. Again I ask, save the planet from what? There is no such thing as climate change/global warming, that is just a lie, we all know it, and what about CO2? Tell me why we have to cut it. Truthfully, as a person who works in the science field, there is no reason. CO2 has no effect on our climate.

Let me take you back to grade school science class. Tree’s and plants, etc… need CO2 to live. We need tree’s and plants to live (they produce oxygen). Take one out of the equation, life on Earth ceases. Higher CO2 also equals more and healthier crops to feed us. The Earth has had much higher CO2 levels in the past, and as you can plainly see, nobody perished.

The European Commission on Monday unveiled a “single European transport area” aimed at enforcing “a profound shift in transport patterns for passengers” by 2050.

The plan also envisages an end to cheap holiday flights from Britain to southern Europe with a target that over 50 per cent of all journeys above 186 miles should be by rail.

Oooo, this kinda sounds like a power and control issue. Somebody thinks that people should behave a certain way, so he or they create laws to force them to live the way a select few think they should live. How very Mao of you folks!

Siim Kallas, the EU transport commission, insisted that Brussels directives and new taxation of fuel would be used to force people out of their cars and onto “alternative” means of transport.

“That means no more conventionally fueled cars in our city centres,” he said. “Action will follow, legislation, real action to change behaviour.”

What did I tell you? Power, control and tyrants. That’s the only thing this nonsense is about.
