The grass kissing, tree hugging environmental zealots in the administration, specifically the FDA have outdone themselves. Guess what’s next on the infinite list of Obama bans? Asthma inhalers. Yup! Those fruitcake environmentalist nutjobs in the tyrannical and out-of-control federal government are putting an asthma inhaler ban in place. Why? To “save the environment!”
Three things come to mind. First, it proves what many of us believe that the environmental nutjobs place a higher priority on “the environment” than on human life. Secondly, the Obama government needs to be voted out next year, and thirdly, save the environment from what, exactly?
There is no possible way asthma inhalers harm the environment. None. Just like aerosol didn’t do a thing to the environment (ozone) when that ridiculous ban went in to effect. Ahh but the kooks are at it again!
via MSNBC:
Asthma patients who rely on over-the-counter inhalers will need to switch to prescription-only alternatives as part of the federal government’s latest attempt to protect the Earth’s atmosphere.
The Food and Drug Administration said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products.
The action is part of an agreement signed by the U.S. and other nations to stop using substances that deplete the ozone layer, a region in the atmosphere that helps block harmful ultraviolet rays from the Sun.
But the switch to a greener inhaler will cost consumers more. Epinephrine inhalers are available via online retailers for around $20, whereas the alternatives, which contain the drug albuterol, range from $30 to $60.
Is this the most asinine pile of shit you have ever read, or what? Ban lightbulbs, control your energy usage (GE Smartgrid), ban foods and force Americans to eat cardboard crap, ban farm dust… does it ever end? WTF? We need to get these assholes out of power and in a prison cell next year. This is absolutely retarded. Land of the free? Surely you jest!
The Atlantic had a piece a while back discussing the inefficiencies of “going green.”
In fact, when I look back at almost every “environmentally friendly” alternative product I’ve seen being widely touted as a cost-free way to lower our footprint, held back only by the indecent vermin at “industry” who don’t care about the environment, I notice a common theme: the replacement good has really really sucked compared to the old, inefficient version. In some cases, the problem could be overcome by buying a top-of-the-line model that costs, at the very least, several times what the basic models do.
And what do I do? I do as I please and to hell with “the environment.” Seriously. When I change the oil in the boats, I give my old boat oil back to “the environment,” and when I fire up those engines in the spring, I blow all the anti-freeze in to the lake. And that’s just for starters. What are you gonna do about it? I won’t stop. So like I said, what are you gonna do about it?
And here’s another one. You know what you do with empty glass bottles when you are out on the water? So glad you asked. You have a two foot iron rod, you stick it down the bottles neck and punch out the bottom of the bottle and toss it overboard. Sinks right to the bottom! Yeah, I do that too. What are you gonna do about it?
