My take on the Grammy’s

Okay. So did everyone watch the Grammy’s on Sunday night? I did not. Don’t really have an interest in that Hollywood stuff whatsoever. But I knew who was going to take the prizes and I was right. It’s all rigged, so are the Academy Awards.

It was predetermined Adele was going to win and she did. The promo’s about her career threatening surgery or whatever it was, gave that away. By the way… Who is Adele? Seriously, she couldn’t have been all that. I’d never heard of her prior to the Grammy’s.

So anyway, Mrs. A. was watching and she told me when Adele was on so I could listen. Yeah, so? Just another female singer whom we will probably never remember in about 5 years. She’s nothing special. I don’t get it. She’s no Reba McEntire or Gladys Knight, Madonna or even Lady Ga-Ga for that matter. To me, she’s just another Dido. Yeah! You’ve forgotten about her already, haven’t you?

And the Whitney Houston tributes and phony idolizing. I got bored with her real fast. Every single song was the same. Starts out slow, hit a few high notes, then scream at the end. Every single time. When I was in radio we used to call her (on and off air) Whitney “The Screamer.” She should have stuck with modeling and laid off the drugs. Jennifuh Hudson is pretty much the same way (as far as singing). Boring.

Yeah, I know it’s Jennifer not Jennifuh, but somebody tell her that. She can’t even articulate her name properly, has to have that ghetto-speak, and that too is very old, tired, and boring.

So, the extent of my Grammy watching lasted about 10 minutes. And it was a struggle to watch even that. As I said, for me, I’m just not in to the Hollywood stuff. It holds no interest for me whatsoever.
