The phony left displaying even more of their monopoly on hypocrisy

What’s a front page hit piece on President Bush, when Barack Obama does the same thing, the phony media and “rights” groups “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.” Their complete domination of the word hypocrisy comes to front and center one more time. Everything is a double-standard to those people. And here we go again.

Does everyone remember Operation Darkening Clouds? No? What, you never heard of it? Oh! That’s right. You went to public school. Here. Let me dumb it down for you. Data Mining. Remember that? Of course you do!

The left was (as usual) “outraged,” and they assigned rights and victimhood status to every person of middle eastern decent (except the Israeli’s) that were in the United States. Their violins played as their hearts bled, while they cried themselves to sleep at night over this great injustice, leaving them emotionally scarred for life, until, “The One” magically healed them on January 20, 2009 as he floated down from the heavens to assume his rightful place as the prophet of the promised land.

On June 25, 2008 the AP via MSNBC reported:

NEW YORK — The U.S. government secretly gathered personal data on more than 130,000 immigrants in the run-up to the war in Iraq, according to a purported FBI document attached to a lawsuit filed Tuesday demanding more detail about how the information was gathered and used.

The New York Civil Liberties Union’s lawsuit against the Justice Department alleges that federal authorities may have violated the privacy of the immigrants under a previously undisclosed FBI program the document refers to as “Operation Darkening Clouds.”

The NYCLU sued after the FBI rejected a Freedom of Information Act request last year to disclose more details about the program. The civil rights group says the FBI replied that “it neither confirms nor denies the existence of the activity or records concerning this subject.”

The alleged data-mining efforts “run counter to our core American values by unfairly singling out immigrants and making them targets of suspicion and scrutiny,” Donna Lieberman, NYCLU executive director, said in a statement.

The FBI and the Justice Department had no immediate comment.

Now this rings a bell, huh? Okay, let’s take a summary view of what the NYCLU published as a press release on their website dated June 24, 2008:

The New York Civil Liberties Union today filed a lawsuit in federal court over “Operation Darkening Clouds,” a secret FBI data-mining program that may have targeted more than 130,000 immigrants in the lead up to the Iraq war….

“Over the past seven years, millions of law-abiding people have had their privacy breached by government agents, so Operation Darkening Clouds should come as no surprise,” said Donna Lieberman, executive director of the NYCLU. “But this regime of secrecy must stop. If the Bush Administration won’t come clean with what it’s doing, then it is time for the courts to step in and force it to do so.”

Since 9/11, the federal government has launched hundreds of data-mining operations, which often involve the consolidation and analysis of information about individuals not suspected of any wrongdoing. These programs, when revealed to the public, have drawn widespread criticism. The DOJ has resisted public scrutiny of its programs, rebuffing congressional, media and FOIA inquiries.

Okay. We get the general idea. Bush policy: Bad. But today this was reported in the Wall Street Journal:

The Federal Bureau of Investigation has begun questioning Libyans living in the U.S., part of an effort to identify any Libyan-backed spies or terrorists, and collect any information that might help allied military operations….

FBI agents began conducting the interviews this week, according to several people familiar with the matter. The agency’s initial focus is on people with personal or professional ties to Libya, which could lead to thousands of interviews. Officials cautioned that figure was a very early estimate….

The FBI isn’t responding to intelligence pointing to any specific plot or plots, according to people familiar with the matter. Instead, the FBI is trying to determine whether there is a threat to Americans in the U.S. or overseas. FBI agents hope to gain enough information from the interviews to understand how much of a threat Libya poses.

Huh! I’ll be darned. Sounds a lot like what the Bush administration was doing at one time. It wasn’t okay then, how come it is now? Oh, that’s right. Barack Obama is president. Shame on me for being so audacious as to ask a reasonable question. Double shame on me for pointing out yet again, leftist hypocrisy.

Where are all the phonies in the media? Where are all the ACLU phonies? Where are all the other leftist phonies? How come the phony left isn’t “outraged?” How come the phony left isn’t assigning any phony “rights” this time around? How come the phony left isn’t assigning victimhood status?

Three word answer. They are hypocrites.
